Cody made the experience unforgettable!
I brought my six year old to go for his first time and Cody entertained his never ending chatter (that some people would be super annoyed by), he helped accommodate for my son starting to feel freezing and getting upset, and he just really went out of his way to make sure everyone had a fantastic time! I couldn’t have asked for a better guide for my son’s first time rafting! Thank you so much Cody and Alpine Adventures for being so amazing!
We had an absolute BLAST! Logan (our guide) was the BEST and we couldn't have had more fun, we are so thankful for the beautiful weather that God blessed us with and loved the experience of rafting down the Skykomish River! Highly Recommend!!
Tour guides were friendly and fun! We came a little late in the season so we weren’t able to get on the faster rivers, but we still had a great time and got to go for a few (very chilly) dips in the river. If you want higher class rapids you’ll have to come earlier in the season, but the Skagit run in scenic and still lots of fun.
Thanks to Abby for a great run!
I’ve gone on two trips on the Skykomish River. Both times I’ve had Clayton as my guide, who is great! The trip is not only a ton of fun, but the company also prioritizes your safety, so somehow you feel pretty safe, even as you’re taking on class IV and V rapids.
They are absolutely amazing. We were in fact running late and they were kind enough to wait for us for an extra 10 mins. My husband and I came here for the rafting trip- and we went with Keno. He made us feel so safe throughout the trip. The rafting was amazing and it was such an adventure. Ty guys- you are awesome :)
Took upper skagit trip. We changed at the gift shop/restroom area just down the road in town. The company will give you shoes and a wetsuit if you need them. Guide was friendly. Loved chatting with the other people in our boat during slow periods. I was pleasantly surprised that they let you hop out of the boat and swim, although it’s pretty cold. Also we were able to jump from a large Boulder into the water which was fun to watch. Staff was great, but it does seem like they are underpaid and get poor quality housing/food.
We had the PM float on 6/14 and couldn’t have had a more incredible experience. We had a group of four, with a guide and two safety kayaks. Couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable group of employees to enjoy our time on the river. We cannot wait to go back!!!
This was my first time rating down a river- we did the Skagit in early August. If you want more rapids, go earlier in the season. If you want calmer waters, go later in the summer but I'd say Class 3 rapids really aren't that bad.
I read some reviews and I have to say, it's quite shocking people actually gave 1 stars due to the guides. Bad jokes, crude humor and loose, carefree attitudes are what makes these trips fun because a lot of people are so uptight and nervous about the trip. The guides are just trying to reel in some fun and make it an enjoyable atmosphere. I use guide services for mountain climbing and they are the most down to earth, personable people on this planet- and on top of all of that, they will be right there if you have an accident or an emergency to save you. They are well trained and the most experienced outdoors people you'll ever meet. So if you wouldn't mind, be nice to them, put up with their weird humor and HAVE FUN!
Now that I know what I know, here's some information that'll help you be successful on the water. Bring water shoes, or river shoes. I wore tennis shoes with socks and I kind of regretted it. I wore long hiking pants and a long sleeve wicking t-shirt which I was grateful for. You will get wet on the Class 3 stuff. Hats and sunglasses that won't come off, sun screen and pack some food and water, (either leave it in the vehicle or consume prior to rafting). I was hungry afterwards! Listen to your Guide and understand directions- if you don't, ask questions and be helpful. At the end of the trip, the guides will ask for help to load boats, ores etc. Help them out, please.
Our guide was Abby and she was awesome!
